Fig beer

Don't need a question to start a thread here. The weather is hot, it would be nice to know when the next brew is coming.

Fig beer

Postby Edgard » 12 Aug 2010, 11:51

Just bottling my fig beer. Used dried figs as I could not find fresh ones. Used about 4 Kg in a 25 liter batch.

Splitted it into 2:
- One I used Lambic yeast so it will turn out like a sourish fruit beer with 'Bretty' underones.
- One without.

Used hops from New Zealand and which smelled like cirtus fruit.

Problem was that all the sugar in the figs restarted a violent fermentaiton and now I have edned up with a beer that has 12 degrees of Alcohol.

It is carbonating now and curious to taste it in the end.
