A bit short of Cascade so with the assistance of a loan from some of Lord Keat's stock and a last minute order of grains from Raymond, went with the recipe posted beforehand....:

LCBA Clone


Brewer: Hunty
Beer: LCBA Clone
Style: American Pale Ale
Type: All grain Size: 26.2 liters
Color: 4 HCU (~4 SRM)
Bitterness: 29 IBU
OG: 1.050 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 5.2% v/v (4.1% w/w)

Grain:
3.5kg British pale
1kg German Vienna
0.25kg Dextrine Malt (Cara-Pils)
0.25kg Wheat Malt

Mash: 84% efficiency
Boil: minutes SG 1.041 32 liters

Hops:
20g Cascade (6% AA, 40 min.)
20g Saaz (2.2% AA, 40 min.)
30g Cascade (6% AA, 20 min.)
30g Saaz (2.2% AA, 20 min.)
40g Cascade (6% AA, 1 min.)
40g Saaz (2.2% AA, 1 min.)

Yeast is Whitelabs East Coast Ale, fresh from the tube.

Lets see how she turns out.

Brew went well except forgot the irish moss :twisted: :twisted: argghhhh cardinal sin for what is supposed to be a bright ale, oh well too late now, should I bin the brew ?

Anyway Whitelabs East Coast Ale took off almost immediately, beginning to like this Whitelabs stuff.

without the irish moss, it's no longer a LCBA clone. Unacceptable.

Are u guys serious abt binning the whole batch? That's such a waste! I will gladly, with the help of a few other thirsty bros, finish the thing for u. NEVER WASTE BEER!
