The real Oktoberfest - Munich Sep 19 to Oct 4, 2009

We didn't brew beer so that we could drink alone did we?. You can get the ball rolling or join the next available cell group. Where there are beers, there are friends.

No Hunty but plan to before my yeast stops working...
Couldnt U manage a trip in that area at that time ???

Have trouble now though as the local trains dont seem to like us lot from the Southern Hemisphere....

Be nice form a travelling group and do Belgian as well.. Dreaming of course..

Been on my mind for a very long time. And I haven't officially started working yet. Though my scholarship pays me decently well, I duno if I can afford (both in terms of $$ and time) to go within these few years. Right smack in the middle of a semester isn't exactly the time to go for a holiday for post grad students. But I would definitely want to go and take a look someday. From what I know, they only allow the big breweries to supply beer for the event, much to the disgust of local small scale mircos. Also, this has become so much of a tourists event that few locals bother to join in. Seems that they have better local events to go to.
